Twerps is YMC's long-awaited, much-demanded, new class offering, created especially for our youngest musicians!
Through singing, movement, and play, children revel in the joy of active music making while building a foundation for fluency and literacy using the Kodály method.
Faculty:
We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Xinying Liu, among the final graduates to receive an M.M. in Music Education with Kodály Emphasis from Holy Names University. Ms. Liu is an experienced musician, dedicated teacher, mother of a 3-year-old, and – as all who meet her quickly discover – a total sweetheart. We feel lucky to have her leading our youngest singers!
Why Kodály?
YMC has long been committed to the Kodály method, a fun and effective way to teach music that engages the whole child. Last semester, YMC was selected as the demonstration chorus for the Kodály Foundation for Music Educators – a testament to our dedication and excellence in this approach. (Video review only shows our older kids, but you're welcome to check it out!)
